Stemple Creek Ranch is a family-owned cattle ranch nestled in the coastal hills of Marin County, near the town of Tomales Northern California. Fourth-generation farmer Loren Poncia runs the farm with his wife Lisa. Their daughters Avery and Julianna, along with their cousins, will be the fifth generation of their family to steward the land. Their Berkshire pigs are humanely raised in large outdoor pens where they enjoy a vegetarian diet with plenty of room to socialize and express natural behaviors. They eat organic, non-gmo grains, as well as grubs and wild forage supplied by Mother Nature. Loren and Lisa have carefully honed their herd over the past fifteen years to produce the finest premium finished meat possible. And animals have access to green grass at all times, ensuring production all year long. The majority of Stemple Creek?s pastureland is Certified Organic and they worked with the Global Animal Partnership (GAP) to receive a Level 4 certification for animal welfare. Stemple Creek Ranch works hard to enhance the ecosystems of their land and ensure biodiversity. Their regenerative, organic agricultural practices support the long-term health and productivity of the soil. They actively preserve sensitive wildlife habitat, maintain and restore natural watershed areas, utilize cutting edge solar and gravity flow technology, and practice an intensive schedule of rotational grazing.
