Stemple Creek - Grass Fed Beef Chuck Roast

Store Pasture Raised Meats Stemple Creek - Grass Fed Beef Chuck Roast

This 100% grass-fed chuck roast is a budget-friendly roast. It's a tougher cut that contains more fat, collagen, and connective tissue than leaner cuts but this makes it an ideal candidate for the slow cooker or slow braising. Lengthy cook time slowly melts the collagen and tenderized the meat so much it can be pulled apart with a fork.

Stemple Creek Ranch is a family-owned cattle ranch nestled in the coastal hills of Marin County, near the town of Tomales. Fourth-generation farmer Loren Poncia runs the farm with his wife Lisa. Their daughters Avery and Julianna, along with their cousins, will be the fifth generation of their family to steward the land. Stemple Creek's free-range, predominantly Angus cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, which means they never eat corn, soy, or other grains. All of their cattle are raised organically and never receive artificial hormones, growth promotants, or antibiotics.

The majority of Stemple Creek's pastureland is Certified Organic and they worked with the Global Animal Partnership (GAP) to receive a Level 4 certification for animal welfare. Stemple Creek Ranch works hard to enhance the ecosystems of their land and ensure biodiversity. Their regenerative, organic agricultural practices support the long-term health and productivity of the soil. They actively preserve sensitive wildlife habitat, maintain and restore natural watershed areas, utilize cutting-edge solar and gravity flow technology, and practice an intensive schedule of rotational grazing.
