Our Sonora Wheat Berries have been cleaned to seed grade quality standards but you may find an occasional weed seed.

Sonora was the first wheat introduced to the Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico by Spaniards in the mid-1600s and was found to thrive in the arid climate. By the 1800s it was the most commonly grown wheat west of the Mississippi. Sonora Wheat is part of Slow Food America’s Ark of Taste, which acts as a “living catalog of delicious and distinctive foods facing extinction” so we are happy to help continue this unique grain’s legacy
